Role Summary

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will play an integral role in collaborating and supporting marketing strategies to communicate with our customers, residents, employees, and the public. This maternity leave coverage role requires expertise in social media content curation and execution, particularly with a focus on video storytelling and supporting a large website project. The Specialist ensures messaging consistency and alignment with CG’s corporate brands, plans, and objectives.

**Please note this is a temporary role expected to end in January 2026.**

Key Accountabilities

  • In consultation with the Director, Corporate Communications, the MCS plans, develops, contributes to, and implements proactive communication and marketing strategies to support internal and external audience engagement around organizational projects and priorities, specifically focusing on social media content curation and video storytelling.
  • Collaborating with the Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications, the MCS identifies communication challenges or emerging issues and recommends improvements, particularly regarding digital paid campaigns, website development and updates.
  • Conducts market research, surveys, and stakeholder feedback with a keen eye on digital trends and preferences in content consumption.
  • Researches, writes, and distributes original content across CG's internal and external communication channels, emphasizing video content for social media platforms and website engagement.
  • Collaborates with the Communications Team to curate content and ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all digital platforms.
  • Contributes to enhancing CG’s image and consumer engagement by developing proactive communication plans, focusing on digital channels and video storytelling.
  • Coordinates placement for advertising campaigns and roll-outs, working closely with the Director Corporate Marketing &  Communications to optimize digital advertising strategies.
  • Participates in developing a comprehensive digital strategy to plan, manage, and execute digital engagement opportunities, including social media campaigns and website projects.
  • Provides support to enhance and protect the company's reputation, advocating for fresh employee and customer engagement approaches, particularly through digital channels.
  • Plays an active role in community marketing, including coordinating community events and sponsorships.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (communications, marketing, journalism), complemented by six to ten years of communications experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in communication planning and executing campaigns.
  • Previous experience working in a real estate development environment is an asset.

  • Experience working both tactically and strategically. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Stay on top of trends and communicate market nuances regularly.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently research, prioritize and assemble details for all aspects of a project or initiative.
  • Advanced computer skills in electronic communication technology, publishing and web-based communications.
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail etc).
  • Ability to travel to other work sites - Driver's License (Class 5) required
