Role Summary

Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Manager leads the site team, and is responsible for successfully project managing the project, supporting the project staff during construction, and collaborating with internal and external business partners. The Senior Project Manager leads with construction planning, execution, monitoring and control, and close-out of the project under construction, all according to BlueCity Construction project management methodology.


Key Accountabilities

  1. Work closely with the Project Director, take leadership in applying formal project management processes and standard operating procedures and ensures the project team adheres to the processes; looks for continuous improvement and efficiencies.

  2. Plan and execute projects through the complete project lifecycle from pre-construction to Occupancy Permit / Substantial Performance; oversees scheduling, negotiation and sub-contractor / supplier coordination; effectively communicates with key stakeholders throughout the entire process.

  3. Review and approve construction contract change orders and presents to the Project Director regular monthly project management reports.

  4. Ensure financial success of the project.

  5. Leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.


Education & Experience

  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.

  • Experienced in low rise or high-rise construction

  • Approx. ten (10) years’ experience as a general contractor.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and assist the design team from post Bldg. Permit process to Issued for Construction drawings.
  • Familiar with contract administration and budget commitment management.
  • Thorough experience with Procore, scheduling, forecasting, accounting and other related various software platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills.
  • A proven track record of project success and team collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, invoicing and financial management, local labour and sub-contractor markets, design requirements, building codes and associated legislation.
