Role Summary
We are seeking a part-time dietitian to join our team! Reporting to the Director of Care, you will be providing dietitian services to our residents, educating employees and working with the interdisciplinary team to develop effective care plans.
Flexible work hours Monday through Friday (total of 40 hours per month).
Key Accountabilities
Provide counselling and optimal nutritional care to residents in accordance with
nutritional guidelines.
Work closely with the Culinary Services Manager / Chef to assist with the provision
of high quality, attractive, safe and appropriate meals /snacks within budgetary
Guidelines.
Direct, Resident Centered Services:
Assessment of residents’ nutritional needs and monitoring of their
individual nutritional status.
Ensure the nutritional and therapeutic requirement of residents are met
through meal planning and meal provision.
Provision of education to residents/families to support their optimum
nutritional health and well being.
Indirect Services:
Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop effective care plans to
meet residents’ nutritional goals.
Provide in-service and ongoing education to staff twice a year.
Continually evaluate and utilize best practice information/research to
improve the quality of nutrition services.
Compile specified data for reports for performance indicators as requested
by the Company.
Reporting:
Report directly to the Director of Care for anything resident care related.
Report to the General Manager / Director for any administrative or financial
Issues.
Equipment / Supplies / Services Provided:
By the Company:
Appropriate space and access to a telephone, computer, administrative supplies.
Access to the working area through access codes and/or key fobs.
By the IP Dietitian:
Service hours as outlined in Schedule, averaged over the month.
Inform the Director of Care / designate if you will be absent and provide a qualified and licensed dietitian in your place.
Maintain records of client visits and their individual nutritional information
Meet the standards and comply with the requirements of any relevant
outside agencies such as Licensing.
Education & Experience
Current registration with The College of Dietitians of BC
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 and /or WorkSafe Insurance
Up to date Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
Completed confidentiality agreement
Commitment to uphold the Values of Bria Communities
Proof of negative TB test / screening
Fully vaccinated for Covid-19 - per LTC requirements
Annual Influenza vaccine to be received
