Reporting to the Head Chef, the Chef de Partie willassist in food preparation, participate in creating and maintaining a positive work environment, and maintaining high internal/external customer service standards. Join us and be part of an exciting place to work!
Ensures food preparation and service delivery standards are consistently achieved and maintained
Supervises all kitchen staff in absence of the Head Chef
Participants in the production of all event orders
Ensures quality, quantity and presentation of all food prepared meets the Coast Hotels standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
In conjunction with the Head Chef ensures correct daily requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation of food are carried out
Prepares and follows a daily prep sheet
Prepares and cooks food as outlined in the menu descriptions
Assists in the coordination of timing for food preparation and service
Is committed to working safely, including adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness
Ensures the security and control of all food stocks used in the kitchen to ensure minimum food wastage
Cover the duties of the Head Chef on days off and vacation time
Performs other duties as assigned and directed by management
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
The following certifications are required: Red Seal (preferred), and Food Safe Level I.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills required
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment required
Demonstrated superior customer service required
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, breakfast, and holidays
Must be able to lift 50lb
Must be available various hours which will include 5am start times.
